I have been growing a beard for a number of years now on and off and am now nearly at a year's length. I will tell whomever might come across this review that if I did not think this product or company was top class, I would not have taken the time to provide the following review.
As most fellow beardsmen, I have been through my fair share of "hit or miss" products. I tend to avoid fragrances due to the risk of allergic reactions they can cause; having learned that the hard way a few years back. Furthermore, I stick to fragrance free products simply because of the fact that I have simply never been big on fragrances and am far more concerned with a product's practical quality/effectiveness - [not to impugn on the many who seek both].
I happened to come by Savage Mane because I was looking for a gentler - and of course fragrance free - beard soap as many which I have used were either too stripping (and consequently drying to the skin) or contained overwhelming fragrances which can sometimes unfortunately eclipse the otherwise great components of a product. I decided that I would give the Jojoba bead soap a try, both because it fit what I was looking for and because it features a unique component (the beads) which I had not seen before.
All said, the soap quickly proved to be a terrific addition to my routine. Not only does the soap do its job well in cleaning but it also tends gives the beard a noticeably healthy feel without leaving your skin completely stripped and dried out. I recently ordered my second bottle of the soap and am trying out the new butter as well; though too early to review.
From my experience with Savage Mane, I truly get the sense that this is a business whose owner genuinely cares about what they are doing and is personally dedicated to all of his clientele. I hope that this review might help anyone who is looking for a great quality product and a straightforward, no commercial or strings attached, assessment from a fellow beardsman.
I accidently posted this under the Stealth Balm: I had to know what semi Whipped butter was like because I've got some whipped and some poured from other companies, but I believe Savage may have stumbled onto the best of both worlds. This stuff is great and pairs amazingly with any variety of scented oils, or with nothing at all.
I tried the whole Stealth set so I could mix in other scents. I also got Apex and Venom as my first scented oils that I was able to wear with stealth butter and balm. These products are high quality, better than what I had been using, and I love the aesthetic of Savage Mane. I will absolutely be trying out the whole catalog over the next few months. Highly recommend.
